We created a newborn session with a clean, gentle white palette. The set featured two bases: a petite white bed and a warm hand-woven round basket. We styled the scene with greenery and nuanced tiny flowers, then tuned the light so the baby’s skin would look its most beautiful 💡
To match our tiny star, we prepared a snake-themed bonnet & plush, a neatly tied ribbon headband, a celebratory party cone hat, and irresistibly cute bunny and bear pieces (plush/bonnets). We also included a horse motif to welcome next year’s zodiac—layering seasonal touches and storytelling into each frame 🐍🎀🎩🐰🐴
Handcrafted by Overseas Artisans—softness right down to the expression
Many bonnets, plush toys, and tiny flowers were one-of-a-kind commissions from independent overseas artisans. Fine yarn and delicate knitting scatter light softly, flattering a newborn’s gentle skin. We adjusted the flowers to an easy-to-hold size and weight, letting the baby grasp them only briefly while we photographed 💐
Two Sets, Two Little Stories
White Bed Set
A thin mohair blanket and a small pillow create a cozy scene where sleeping expressions shine. We added a date block, a tiny clock, and alphabet props to record the day in a sweet, memorable way.
Woven Basket (Round) Set
We built depth with a fluffy fur rug and lace, then framed the baby with a gentle ring of greens. Bunny-ear bonnets and the zodiac horse accessories pair beautifully with this setup—perfect for seasonal milestones.
Highlights by Motif
- Snake bonnet & plush: Placed to snuggle the baby’s peaceful profile, adding a calm, slightly mystical tone.
- Ribbon & party cone hat: A dash of celebration. Even on a white base they add a delicate accent.
- Bunny & bear ears: Fluffy ears catch the light for soft highlights; paired with plush friends, they enhance the “protected” feeling.
- Next year’s zodiac — Horse: Popular for marking a turning point; perfect for New Year keepsakes.
“Nice to meet you” with Big Brothers, too
We also photographed the baby side by side with two big brothers. Lively smiles and even a little tear—everything is part of this family’s warm right-now, and we treasured it all.
Safety-First Flow & Comfortable Conditions
We constantly check breathing, temperature, and limb color and use only non-forcing poses. Room temperature, humidity, and cleanliness come first; breaks and feeds follow the baby’s rhythm. Every prop is inspected in advance, contact time is short, and we choose gentle materials 🫧
About Ueda City, Nagano
This on-location newborn session was commissioned from the castle town of Ueda City, Nagano. Ueda Castle Ruins Park, the calm flow of the Chikuma River, and the atmosphere of Bessho Onsen bring soft light through the seasons—sakura in spring, riverbank greens in summer, Sugadaira’s autumn colors, and the clear quiet of winter—all supporting tender newborn tones 🌿
Access is convenient via the Hokuriku Shinkansen (Ueda Station), and driving from the Joshin-Etsu Expressway is smooth. We also visit homes, family houses, and accommodations (including the Bessho Onsen area). On the day of the shoot, we suggest rooms where temperature, humidity, and bounced light are easy to control, and we proceed safely at your family’s pace 🚗
We also welcome inquiries from the Ueda area’s neighbors! For example: Karuizawa Town (famous summer resort), Tōmi City (wine-grape and walnut country), Komoro City (the castle-town ambience of Kaikoen), Chikuma City (the hot-spring town of Togura-Kamiyamada), Saku City (highland scenery and fireworks), and Suzaka City (cherry blossoms at Garyū Park). We’d be happy to discuss sessions across these surrounding areas as well ✨

On classic stages—a bed and a woven basket—we layered seasonal motifs to tell a story unique to your family. Custom requests for next year’s zodiac or your favorite animals are very welcome. We’ll preserve your baby’s “right now” with soft light and artisanal textures 📸✨
